2-Caffeine! It's the ultimate best thing for pre-workouts :D
Sometimes it's good to go off for a week or two if you're not feeling the intensity as much. Works for me and feels like I'm taking it for the first time.

You might also be taking too much of the pre-workout; be sure to take exactly what's recommended to gauge tolerance and go from there
I would of course put some Universal Casein Protein, water, and some pre-workout supps. I'm working on my Master's in Math Education so here's a simple equation:

Couldn't agree more, but I'd say take your pre-workout 30 minutes beforehand :)
Do a search on the bodybuilding site to find some quick tips on what proteins are helpful for which ones (Casien, Whey, etc). This should help you out too.
