Same here. My heart goes out to the families affected by this tragedy. I don't think I could live in tornado country - too damn scary (he says, waiting for "The Big One").
Um, this isn't about residents of Las Vegas, is it?

9/11 is our generation's December 7th. That and Japan is our ally now.
Every Dec. 7 they shine a beacon from the top Mt. Diablo east of San Francisco / Oakland. I can see it from my house some...

Now we know why NIF never achieved ignition.
Looking forward to seeing the movie on a future flight!
Funny, I was going to start a similar thread!
When I began lifting, I cut out nearly all sweets and alcohol. That, along with exercise resulted in fairly rapid weight loss. Within 2 months I...

(duh!)
Congratulations and good luck! I hope she says "yes!" and that you two happily grow old and gray together.
Not sure I've ever used that in conversation, but I've certainly used it in papers I've published.
Very interesting - I knew of the Texas Germans, but not that German was still spoken. Reminds me a bit of the Mennonites in Paraguay (they say they speak Plattdeutsch, but it's really more like bad...
