    Not for me....a thick belt adds a good 45 lbs on my squat. I agree a lot is confidence that your beack is stable but the ability to push against something helps me.

    we have been through this ad nauseum....the best exercises target the lower ab and upper hip flexor area (lliopsoas). The core needs to be strong or u wont go anywhere.

    why wouldnt you get a lift off on a single? If the weight is heavy enough you need it as to not tear something....the bar is way to far back unless its on one of those benches that rocks forward.
