You have asked for advice and at least 5 people have pretty much told you the same thing. All of these individuals have spent quite a bit on money on their home gyms and are trying to save you from...
Machines and Freeweights each have advantages and disadvantages. Some people prefer one over the other, but unless you are limited to one or the other, why not use both. A good mix of machines and...
The Rack, Bench, and Bar are the most important pieces that form the core of the gym. If it were me, I would buy a higher quality Rack, Bench and Barbell, and drop the Leg Press/Hack Squat and...
The only J-Hooks I've seen that needed UHMW replaced were ones that were on racks that had been used in Athletic Programs (NCAA). And these racks were 15 to 20 years old.
Really nice setup!
How do you like having the adjustable cable behind the rack? Are you able to do rows on your bench using the crossmember to brace your feet?
Those appear to have been repainted. I'm guessing they were grey/green originally.
There are various iterations of these plates, basically dealing with the amount and location of machining.

I would definitely get one of Mech's monolifts!!
You won't be that far from Legend, so they are definitely an option. I don't think they do custom racks, but they may be willing to shorten one for you. Even, if you don't buy a rack from Legend,...
There is nothing wrong with that open top design with the lower front post (easier to move barbells in and out of the rack), assuming it is well made. If you are moving in two months, you should...
Couldn't agree more. Quality bench and leg extension attachments are mutually exclusive!
You have made some really good equipment choices. I love the black and white color combination on the racks.
The whole gym has come together really nice! Looks a lot different from when I visited. Can't wait to get back up there and see everything in person.
Best rack accessory that I own!
