    That's what I figured too, just back to the basics, heavy compound lifts.

    Any reasoning as to why 5x5 would be preferred over 3x5 in my case? Or vice versa.

    Core: Chin Ups - no assisted machine, using b/w

    1st = 8 x body weight
    2nd = 6 x body weight
    3rd = 5 x body weight

    These were all pretty much to failure.
