There is so much wrong with this post, starting at the title itself. The multivitamin you take wont make a damn difference in your bulk. Get your micronutrients from food, and spend that money on...
Convenience, taste and ignorant customers. These are the main selling points of protein powders.
Probably you'll find it shocking, but the food you're getting your macros from contains also micronutrients, vitamins and minerals, so you are most likely getting all you need from your diet.
If you're looking for 5 lbs of quality whey for under $40 the only solution is a time machine, go 10 years back in time, stock up and come back, or stay there, those were better times...
You've confused me with the bolded... If you have hard time hitting your macros, then sure, they can help you in that regard.

You're thinking right. Eat a solid meal a couple of hours b4, have a strong black coffee, then proceeds to lift some heavy ass weights. It works just right for me.
