there are a bunch of them (rogue, werksan, etc.) but they're all over 100 as far as I know. the standard bar thing is a good idea. I'd go with that
Looks nice. Bigger bar holder is not bad if you have a fat bar... Which I do.
that's worth about 250, if you can get it for 250 then it's not too bad. bench = $0

issue isn't just if the safeties can support the weight, it's if the safeties can support a dropped weight (say shoulder height). That multiplies the force on the safeties by something like 10x the...
you know...
it strikes me that there's no "fitness equipment" that's been originated in this forum, that could then be marketed for the profit of the members. some ab/rubber band thing would fit...
Looks mighty nice. I have an edwin jagger that I got on sale from amazon. It's nice, but the chrome handle is a bit slippery, and it'd be cool to get vintage gilette in good shape. Also, something...
that new design is looking good. those 6 plates went up easy .
Check ebay. I'm pretty sure there are used heavy duty cages in the 400$ range in the new York area.
This doesn't answer your question, but I bought 1.25lb plates to microload and I found that I rarely use them. What I wish I would have done is bought Ivanko 1.25 collars, which weigh 1.25lbs each,...
is that a big deal, the lack of interlocking?
EDIT:
here's keetman's thread. according to him, the standard plates don't wobble or anything.

man, that is nice looking. hope this new version works better. who's getting one?
can you just buy the handles for 200$ then use the ivanko pancake standard plates since they're machined and have tighter tolerances (I assume)?
that's a nice looking kit. i've been wanting to try that taylor and bond. the only thing I would change is the brush. This HIS brush is highly reviewed on the badgerandblade forum, and is available...
I agree with that, and when I start my own equipment building company, I expect everybody on the forum to buy stuff. First welding class scheduled in two weeks. Hope your wallets are ready.
you know it may not be that the jack is too tall, it just maybe that the leverage is insufficient. maybe keep the height, increase the height of the back lip to take care of the dumping issue, and...
heard about this, but never really looked into it.
Reebok seems to like the idea though

that was my thought initially. interestingly, I found Shoua's website, where he describes his homemade jack. After 5 plates, the bar starts to bow, and the plates then sit on the floor. I'm not sure...
Maybe our jacks are different sizes. The york bumpers are just at 17 5/8" in diameter, and they're almost 4" off the ground
