Yup, half size down works well. I have the Wabasha boots (not J Crew exclusives) and LOVE them! Normally a size 11, went with the 10.5. Works great!

Same here. I wear a 10.5 in Clarks and a 10.5 in Red Wing. I generally size down a half size.
