We're talking simple behaviorism here. Psychopaths use cost/benefits analyses all the time and are not influenced by emotion. Not sure what exactly you're talking about..

I use it in court and parol hearings all the time :)

Corroborative data is helpful. Hearing the same thing from 3 different sources has obvious utility.

Also, who said psychopaths have to necessarily be seriously violent offenders. If they don't think it will suit their needs, why violently offend? Their violence is instrumental.

It seems impossible to you because, again, you don't know anything about the PCL-R. Collateral data is much more than a criminal records report. You call previous employers, you call family members,...

Much of the PCL-R is completed with collateral data. The psychopath is expected to lie through his teeth.

Also, please keep in kind that Factor 2 (the antisocial behaviors piece) is more predicative of psychopathy than Factor 1 (the personality piece).

How do you know they don't have a history of violence of crime? Surely a psychopath wouldn't conceal that to advance in an organization. :) Also, just because someone isn't arrested or convicted...

Beats me. We tend to like people who have traits we find desirable, who appear similar to ourselves somehow (in behaviors, interests, etc), or who express interest in us in some capacity.
