I will let others from the UK chime in on what might be available there, but I cant believe that there is any quality bench (ie safe for a man to lift any amount of weight) for anywhere near that...

^^this. it is a simple, cheap solution.

that bench looks like something "marketed" toward the little pink plastic dumbbells crowd. the design and mechanism screams cheap and I would not want to lay on it for 2 seconds.

some cheap adjustable spinlock dumbbells and a bench would be a good start. those alone...given enough weight...will take you a long long way.

if I were to go with spinlocks, these would be my choice. Hampton SGH-14T and SGH-16T (the 16 inch version). very high quality feel, lock up nice, and very comfortable handle.

definitely get some spinlocks. ive done pullovers and every other movement over the years with them without any issues. even if they come loose they are still holding the weight on.

is it a UK thing to not have a lifetime warranty on a good rack? any decent rack should carry that on the frame itself. I recall someone measuring the thickness of the metal and some of it wasn't...

you could check with Ironmaster. id say there is a fair chance they would sell you just the stand. otherwise, anything with a flat top and shelves would work.

if you are willing to spend $200-$250, then a used power rack is in you budget on CL if you keep looking.

lol. not exactly a new product. so, for almost $200 more you get the stand and six 5 lb plates. I cant disagree with those that say the ironmaster dumbbells are a good product but pretty over price...
