I know how you feel, I've had some really annoying spotters who freakin' lift the whole thing for me even though I tell him to not help before starting even :|
Forget the pushups on off days.. Let your chest recover on rest days.. once it is recovered, just bench again. And yess eat more, get like about 2500+ calories at least your weight. I too was stuck...
