Im hoping to start this program, unfortunately im only able to get to the gym 4x per week whereas the program suggests 5.
Will it cause too much of an issue doing legs once a week instead of twice...

I have been following Bill Starr's 5x5 strength building program, i found i was exactly the same when i started and i could only do 2 maybe 3 dips at a push, over time as this program helps to boost...
My gym doesnt actually have a squat rack so i only use the smith machine for squats, i still find i get the same workout from it.
Just the idea alone already makes me feel sick lol, can just about do 225 for 3! GL all taking part though!

You usually hear around the 12 week mark is when friends/family/colleagues etc, should start noticing a difference, sounds like you and i started at almost the exact same time lol, im looking forward...

Ah so useful, i unfortunately have a 9-5 monday-friday desk job and i even notice myself slouching quite badly from time to time, will definitely give some of these excercises a try :)

I can notice a decent difference considering it is only 4 weeks, im in kind of the same position as you, i have been training hard and (what i initially thought) have been eating well, unfortunately...

Dumbell squats, pistol squats or if its like my gym, they have a smith machine but no squat rack, i use that to squat instead.
I guess it kind of depends on how much your currently barbell squatting, if your still relatively new to it all and the weight is still quite low (like me lol) you will find the same sort of burn...
I dont think its that common for anyone literally just starting out to do much more then 3-5 pull ups to start with anyway, maybe find a strength building program like bill Starr's 5x5 and follow...
