Like others have said brah, do some SS. Eat with a good diet and you won't get fat. (Good diet meaning a good surplus of calories .. not too much, not too little).
I think both types of routines can work.. it just depends on what you like doing. Doubt one is significantly better than the other (well, once a week splits are pretty terrible). Ill check that...
Barbell curls are fine, I would add them to one of the workouts (either A or B).. do something like 3x8 or 2x12, and add more weight once you can complete all the reps.
perhaps I worded it wrong, soreness can be an indicator of a good workout, but a lack of soreness isn't an indicator of a bad workout. You can grow without getting sore.
