I cant see any advantages for bench as its the weight pulling down on your thumb and fingers which locks it in, ie when doing the olympic lifts and deadlifts. But if its working keep doing it.
yeah thats pretty extreme. 225 is about 70% of 315 so only 3 reps with 70% of your 1rm is extremely fast twitch. wouldn't say it is impossible but it would be very uncommon.
