    Personally i have had the most success with heavy singles for volume and timed holds of 30-45 seconds for multiple sets.

    They were all weighed and wrote on in a gym i used to train at and if memory serves me correctly the lightest '20kg' plate weighed 17.82kg and the heaviest 23.08kg so yeah definately some variation.
