Try different instruments. I played 10+ before coming to find my zone with the guitar. You don't need to be good at any of them either, you'll just find the one that feels right

Probably a dumb question, but have you tried tapping it in harder? Some of my pins slip, I just have to give them a good pound and they'll sit.
