Agreed that optimal cadence is different for every rider. But I think cadence sensors (in addition to speed and HR) can be useful to determine your most effective cadence for various riding...

Don't dive up the inside on corners.

Don't do any time on the front unless you need to.

Start in a low grade and work your way up, even if you think you're ready to go straight into B grade.

My brother in-law has a very similar bike (it was an S50 flatbar which I've since converted into a dropbar). Its a pretty nice bike, looks good too.
