You can use a 100% chocolate bar, such as Bakers. The dates make it sweet enough. But most of the flavors don't use chocolate. My favorite is the peanut butter ones.
I try not to consume too much sugar, and stick to a lot of protein. But pre-workout, simple carbs seem to be the best thing for me to not weigh me down. Does anyone else have trouble with this?
Does the oatmeal ever weigh you down?
I find it hard as a pre-workout meal because I usually eat two servings at a time, with protein powder, and it sits in my stomach.
