You got 2 factors brah, $-x$ and $e^{-x}$ (or equivalently $x$ and $-e^{-x}$). You know either or both of these have to be $= 0$, but $e$ to any power can never be 0, thus $x$ has to be $= 0$

There's tutoring for up to calc and differential equations. There's no tutoring for real analysis, abstract algebra, topology, differential geometry, etc. which are the ones I'm failing

I don't mind if they're "out of touch" or "don't have realistic expectations" as long as they are willing to help the student meet their goals should they require assistance for the class. Our school...
