Agreed with Eric. No absolutes. I do think block pulls CAN be useless for a lot of lifters because they don't know how to do them correctly. I also think lots of lifters do their block pulls at too...
Looks similar to my stance.
As for the ideal conventional deadlift stance...it depends on the person's build/leverages/strengths.
