That is a horrible plan and losing muscle to win a contest is just ridiculous. You should probably recommend the contest should be about losing body fat and get a professional to do the measuring.

There's a lot written on this, In my opinion 20 minutes or so is good, and good for your body even while bulking, just don't go overboard. I believe that is the general concensus.
