personally I wouldn't consider anything without 2" holes or less. I like to do bench press and when I had a 3" hole spacing it was annoying. It never felt "right" and even if you pad the bench off...

home depot has decent size no edge mirrors usually, in my old home gym I put a couple of those together.

that's why I put "Also this is a private client situation, not a trainer in a commercial gym where I'm sure there's rules around those sorts of things."
