Well Id say the best thing is to do very little cardio, you can save a lot of energy and just focus on the weights instead. Doing a lot of cardio helps more of weight loss than building lean mass.

Also if you take your protein after your lifting sessions THEN going on a run. you're body will use the protein you took for energy rather than using it to repair your muscles.
If you're goal is to lose weight then the amount of cardio seems fine but if you want to build muscle then you're probably going to start burning muscle by running for 25 minutes.
If its just natural soreness like DOMS, don't take a day off. If its more than just muscle soreness and irregular pain then definitely take a day off to recover. Take something to help you recover if...
