Dont jump the gun cutting calories out of your diet, keep in mind you can eat at maintnance and then workout to get yourself into a deficit.. You'll be a lot less hungry and have more energy.

Your crazy 350+ with resting? More like circuit/ full body. Most lifting is in splits.. I'm not arguing the fact of which is better, I am stating data that backs it up. I'm gonna let this one die.
Your right deficit is the way to go.. if you put 2 people who are identical on the same defecit and have one lift for 1 hr 3 times a week and the other run.. The cardio will show more results..

5'11, 224 eating 1900 cal WTF. Your prob mis counting your cals if your gaining. Your body may be going into starvation mode and holding onto everything because your at such a deficit.
