Either way, avenin can have the same effects as gluten on somebody depending on their sensitivity.

The only way to know if oatmeal/gluten/avenin is causing the acne is the go gluten free and see...

If you have even a slight allergy to gluten, which oats contain, it can cause acne breakouts.
