Its been a while since I checked this thread but good luck to you King Creatine. For me-I was absolutely miserable for two months after surgery. I would like to say that I had a great atittude...
Depends on how severe the tear was. I suffered a distal bicep tear (tearing from the radius bone and not the shoulder). I could see that the end of my bicep had moved up my arm by an inch or more...
Been nearly 9 months since my reattachment surgery. After surgery and during rehabilitation it has been important for me to do simple flexing exercises as well. I had a complete distal tear and had a...
Funny all the differences in recovery/rehab out there. I was told I could and should be moving my hand in doorknob type movements. I also have the pushup-position type problem you mentioned. Should...
After surgery, I was in a brace/bandages and sling for about 3 weeks. Then in a traditional cast and sling for another 3-4 weeks and then the custom ($$) robo brace (no sling) for a few more weeks....
It's been about 4 months since my surgery. (5/06) Skipping surgery was never an option for me since I was able to take the time off work. Recovery seems to be good. No pain in rotation or flexion....
Cany anyone tell me, does working the TRICEP on the injured arm during recovery from this injury/surgery pose a problem for any reason?
Sounds like it might be a partial tear since your bicep didnt move up your arm like mine did. (75% strength seems like a lot) Did the mri show a full tear? Also, for those of you who've recovered...
I've been in the robo-brace for a couple weeks now. It allows me to slowly straighten my arm but it "pulls" me back up. I wonder what is too fast a pace to begin stretching and elongating the muscle....
Well, i'm into the (expensive) custom made brace now. Looks like I'll wear this for 6-8 weeks. Good not to have the sling over the neck anymore pulling you out of alignment. Time to start slowly...
For those of you who had a distal tear of the bicep, and went on to wear a post surgical brace, was your brace an orthodic custom job (taking a mold of your injured arm before constructing the brace-...
I'd like to know more about the robo-brace phase. What are the mechanics of it? Does it "pull" your arm with slow adjustments? Are you still inactive during the beginning phase of wearing it? How...
Well, I got out of the brace and bandages a couple days ago and went directly into a cast. This was the first time I got to see my arm since before surgery. I was expecting it to look pretty bad, and...
Things change so fast with an injury of this nature. Simple things (shaving, cooking, cleaning the house, ect.) take an additional 50% of your energy. You have to maintain a comfortable position...
I had just got back from vacation- so I hadn't been to the gym for a couple weeks. My surgery was only five days ago so I'm still gettin used to this new inactive routine. Can be challenging keeping...
I tore my left arm bicep from the elbow on 4/30/06. I had surgery a few days later (asap is best for good recovery). It's amazing how much we use both hands (think eating a hamburger). I tore mine...
