While that is possible, i personally find bmi a poor tool in esstimating your base caloric intake as the body is a complex organism with a large amount of factors affecting your own metabolic rate....

theres a good chance you either are miscounting your calories or misjudging your deficit. Could be other factors like water retention though, play around with it until you see results
