    swimming - what effect on muscles?

    Does swimming induce hypertrophy, or is it just cardio? I can imagine it being cardio because of the repetitive movements, but water is some kind of resistance too.

    So right now I do abs once a week, with the following routine:

    -Leg raise
    -Weighted crunch
    -Knee-in
    -Mountain Climber
    -Weighted Side Bend
