I think that they could have some carry over to car deadlifts. Also you can use it for conditioning work, and getting prepared for car dead for reps.

Don't get me wrong I think that straps have there place in Strongman, just not on an axle.

Good job, but I don't see the point of an axle dead that allows straps. Seems pointless. The axle is supposed to be a grip event and with straps it is not.
