Personally it usually takes me around 2.5 hours to workout but I usually do 2 muscle groups per session, so an hour on back and an hour on bi's for example.
Get the weight to the right level so as you max out at 8-10 reps. Once you get a weight which is 8-10rm you'll gain muscle size. For strength aim for 3-5rm.
