I would recommend cutting. When you first start lifting you should still be able to gain muscle in a deficit.

I actually got measured at 7.5% 5 weeks after that pic was taken its not that hard
I got to 9% just simple rule of -500caloroes per day with a cheat meal in there maybe once a week it's not hard. No carbs is non-sense you can have plenty of carbs just have most of them at the start...
Mate if your 20-25% brand you started bulking you will put on more muscle but you won't nearly look as good if you cut as soon as you get down to the 8-12% range you will have a more aesthetic body...
Really I thought fast digesting carbs were good post workout. I have oats for breakky.
