Morning, Tedd. Hope you were able to get some sleep last night.
Nope, was getting ready to go to bed and I got a work call around 9:30. Luckily I was able to logon from home and fix it - but I still didn't get to bed until after midnight. Needless to say, I over-slept this morning - and didn't get in until 9:00.
Our normal 3rd shift operator suffered an AAA (abdominal aorto aneurism) a few weeks back, and his fill-in was unsure how to handle a 'routine' problem - by the time I had gotten involved it had escalated into a major problem.
Today, I'm just going to work on my 6 month travel itinerary. I doubt it will be all approved, but at least I know they won't deny me the Vegas DB2 Conference in October. The Chicago trips are a little iffy though, as will be the D.C. trips.
Crap, this is going to be one long day. Got here at 6:00, and it doesn't look like I'll be able to leave the office until 18:30.
Major file corruption, going to have completely shut down the mainframe, undo the maintenance I installed on Saturday, re-start the mainframe, and rebuild the files.
What's worse, we're not even convinced that the maintenance is the problem! But we have to eliminate all possibilities to find out.
I have sent an urgent ETR to the *** to see which, if any, maintenance component could possibley have caused this problem.
We are getting duplicate keys (which is theoretically impossible with our VSAM structure), even worse they are out of sequence (which again should not happen in an indexed file)!
I've reviewed the maintenance and I cannot find a single thing that could be directly causing this problem, unfortunately the provided documentation isn't of much help in tracking down an indirect link.
The only words of this post I understood were "crap". "and", and "the". :p
Sounds like it's been a decidedly un-fun time for you, Tedd. Hope you're holding up under the stress and fitful sleep schedule.

LOL Emma I'm sure you could lay down a few medical terms that would leave us scratching our heads.
Tedd I hope your Friday is better. You deserve a relaxing weekend after all your excitement.

And I don't see Florida. Surely there's a winter conference here?

Hey Ted...how was the weekend?
And I don't see Florida. Surely there's a winter conference here?
There is one in Miama in December, but I cannot fit that one into my schedule - it's the same time as the one in DC, and that one is more important.
Hey Ted...how was the weekend?
Busy, but better than working.

Been a really hectic week, plus with all the smoke in the air it's starting to take it's toll on me; constant sinus headache, sore throat, etc. This morning the smoke was so thick that the sun was a dim reddish-orange orb in the sky!
We need some rain, and we need it bad - so much of Idaho is in flames that it is just sickening.

I did not workout last Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday - but I did resume lifting once again on Monday. I have not posted my routines because of time constraints (plus I'm embarrased to say, I seem to be back-sliding a lot for some reason - I'm not as strong as I was 2 weeks ago).
Squats have gone up slightly, incline shoulder press has stagnated, bench press has actually gone down.
