had my first carb up yesterday, maan was i full. good to be back on keto now.
Was thinking is yogurt ok for keto? its jus cuz im having a hard time finding stuff to eat. Football has killed me today:(
Greek yogurt should be okay. Avoid all the low fat ones.
Before football, it would be a good idea to eat a small, low gi carb meal. Maybe oatmeal or something.

oh rite, i thout i couldnt have oatmeal while on keto?or is that only with milk?
-
You don't usually. But people doing competitive sports often do TKD where you eat a small carb meal before and after workouts. This allows you to train at a higher intensity than on straight keto. It's a small meal, and only before something like a football session.

Author Says:
"100 Grams of easily digested liquid carbs along with around half as many grams of carbs in protein (here 50) as a whey shake or something of that nature should be taken right after the last workout (which I will address in the workout section of the article) when insulin sensitivity will be at its greatest."
My problem with this is that I have to work out that morning from 6:45 AM til 8:15 AM on Friday morning. Is it really that essential to start my carb load right after the workout? Should I wait until Friday night to start my carb load and end it on Saturday night, or should I just start my carb load on Friday morning and end it on Saturday afternoon?

i was wondering, should i start taking the EC stack? Ive been on keto for 3 weeks now. I was tinking maybe EC could speed up the process. Also does the EC stack contact ephedra?

EC contains ephedrine, and it works on keto, but if you are getting good results now, I'd wait until you hit a plateau before you introduce it.

Only carbs I'm getting at the moment is 4-5G from myofusion post workout. And like 4G from hot dogs when I make em with my eggs.
Considered keto still?
-
Ditch the hot dogs and eat some vegetables.
so how much protein is in that 2 scoops?
I use Cytosport and it has 1g per scoop, 17g of protein.
ON 100% whey 1 scoop - 120 cal, 1g fat, 3g carbs, 24g protein.

Great on carb-up.

Can someone message me a good diet plan to get this diet going? Those microwavable foods would be good. I read the article but I just can't understand some of it. I'm really new to this Keto Diet.
I'm currently 167lbs, 5'8", and 18 y/o. My body fat that I calculated online is around 18%. I'm just lost and I would like to start this as soon as possible. I hit the gym around 3 times a week or more. Thank you!

hey ive had a lot of success on keto, lost about 20 lbs and its goin great. However, i got a major test coming up and I want to know if being in ketosis when im taking this test will affect my concentration. Would I be more focused and attentive if i did a carb up b4 the test, or shud i go rite in when im in ketosis. thanks
-
Personally, I always make a point of being in ketosis for exams or study days. Better concentration, less fatigue. But you've been on keto long enough to know your own body best. Do you feel more alert in ketosis or on carb-up?
-
i took this week off ( since i havent taken one in a very long time)
Im just wondering now, should i carb up this week, wait another week or go for a smaller carb up?
I would do depletion workout if i carbed up

If you haven't been working out, don't carb-up. But you can eat closer to maintenance.

Carb-up is a refeed, so you must drop your calories lower on the keto days to allow for it. If you are not doing the carb-up, you can eat higher calories without affecting your diet. Still at a deficit, but you don't need such a big one.

Would a below maintenance "carb up" still work?
It would kick me out of ketosis which is bad in some way but since most carbs would be used would my glycogen storage deplet as soon as i dropped carbs the next day?
One more thing... if you are not on ketosis would a low carb diet be almost as effective? What i mean is....
I dont think i need to carb up every week but i still get carbs cravings... If I did a low carb ( with some bread and the likings) or a below maintenance "carb up" would it be benefecial when it comes to avoiding muscle loss or is a full carb up the most approppriate?
-
For bodybuilding, then a proper carb-up, at above maintenance calories, is best. If you have a lot of fat to lose (and you don't) then a carb-up at maintenance would work.
Ketosis is useful, but it's not an end in itself. Low carb will work just as well, except that you don't get the benefit of reduced hunger. By all means, do low carb rather than keto, but I'd strongly suggest you find better carb sources than bread. Bread is a very processed food, and wheat causes more problems than most other foods. Go for oatmeal, root veg, brown rice etc.

Ide start the EC for sure. Ephedrine actually starts working better the longer u take it

thank you for your help, just a last question. Can i eat baked beans while on keto? or is that a nono
thank you for your help, just a last question. Can i eat baked beans while on keto? or is that a nono
On the carb-up, sure. Not on keto days.

so i have been trying to do eat 1 slice of bread( 10 grams of carbs) with fat and see if it still stayed on ketosis...
Im mostly not hungry throughout the day... always thirsty( as i was when i didnt eat bread) so i probably think im on ketosis...
My carbs intake is somewhere 30 grams a day... is this possible? can bread be eaten while on keto if you control other carbs?
Also, i do my carb up on saturdays and therefore my depletion workout on that day... thing is.... if i do back and biceps day on another day the gym is pretty crowded and since i dont have any space to deadlift and get stares, comments and "tips" just because im doing them (no one deadlifts in my gym) can i move this day to depletion workout?
what i mean is... do back and bicep day , then do the other muscle groups... making this workout fullbody but mostly focused on back and biceps....

I'm pretty certain it's sugar-free, so it should be fine. I take the Boots version of that, and have no problems.

So i have a question Eileen.
I have been on keto for almost 2 months now. I lost 10 pounds in the beggining but I have been stalled there for weeks. I am wondering if I should drop my calories down a little more. I am 4'10" and at 130lbs. I need to loose at least 20 more pounds to be in the healthy BMI range for my height. I have been eating 1200 -1300 calories a day but i am not hungry on keto at all so Im sure I could go lower. I have also been doing a carb up every week but maybe i could go every other week. what do you think?
