Our neighborhood kitty cat. She is about 20-25 pounds which is pretty good size for a bobcat (Lynx rufus). She had two cubs a couple of years ago.
I took this pic from the driveway when I got home from work last night. This is why when we take our two labs out for a walk they are all upset and have to tag a bush every 10 feet.

Very cool.
He's not as impressive as your kitty cat, but this is the tom cat from our neighborhood. Not long ago, he had an older, very scarred competitor, but he died recently. He's looking grumpy in the first photo because he had been rudely awoken just moments earlier by his nemesis.

That's cool, my daughter LOVES spotted cats and would be excited to see one. As long as it doesn't get too friendly with the people(or vice versa)!
In other news, did my 5x5 yesterday for the first time in a few weeks and my legs and back are WRECKED today.

Surprised the coyotes haven't got him yet. Cats don't last long on our side of the mountain.
They killed a mountain lion about 3 miles east of us a few years back that decided to hang out in a neighborhood. Game and Fish finally said enough and whacked him.
I would not go outside unarmed (rarely do anyways) if there were 100+ pound cats about on a regular basis.

We frequently see coyotes in our neighborhood. As you say, they do keep the feral cat population down.
I think I saw a mountain lion a year or two ago while hiking in McDowell Mountain Park. I only got a brief glimpse of it; it could have been something else.
Keyboard, I'm amazed that the bobcat allowed you to see him.....I thought they were experts at staying out of sight.
I think we have coyotes around here (outside Reading, PA). I haven't seen or heard them, but a few neighbors have mentioned that their dogs have gotten really spooked lately when walking in the woods, and one neighbor mentioned finding a bloody deer carcass not too long ago. About the only other thing that would make sense around here (besides people) would be a bear. There are plenty of bears around, but I didn't think they usually bother with deer.

Nice! My back is sore from my workout yesterday. I deadlifted 315 x 3, which is a new PR for me.
I am not the photographer you guys are but I have seen coyotes, deer, and tons of turkey in my yard. I have actually seen Deer sharing the field with Turkey and on one occasion Deer and Coyotes were in the yard at the same time:

Screw that! I would have set my truck on fire and made a call to my insurance.
wtf i was looking at the elitefts marker (or whatever it is) for a few seconds before I noticed the spider. whatd you do with it?
I just finished watching this video in which Mark Rippetoe interviews Mark Tuchscherer. There's some stuff on programming in the latter half of the video which I found interesting.

I actually trapped it in a jar for a while, but then I did what most people would do with it, turns out it is a harmless species but it was by far the largest I had ever seen. Here are a few more pictures.

That sure is a huge spider! I've never really gotten why people are so afraid of them though. I remember back in the day when a couple of friends asked me to come over and hang out. When I showed up, they were huddled in a corner and begged me to kill a large-ish wolf spider. I did eventually kill it, but not before "accidentally" throwing it at them a few times (there were some screams), followed by a few hours of mockery by me.

I thought it might be a brown recluse. We have those out here. Most horrific bite you can imagine. If you have a strong stomach, google brown recluse bite. EEEK!

We have them too. That's the only reason I was a bit nervous. This was a fishing spider.

Why don't I see a tree stand set up out there? Nothing beats fresh venison. Just had some back strap for lunch.

The really sad part of that is that he is so very excited about his Christmas present, and he is going to get flamed into oblivion for it.....

Hahaha, that's amazing. I do feel a little bad about that since he is so excited, though I won't care so much if he gets defensive and declares us all idiots. Hopefully he can take his lumps, learn a little bit and move on.

It being near Christmas and all, I didn't have the heart to say anything about it in his thread. I think BAVE's comment was good; it wasn't overly harsh, but if the guy has a clue, he may get the message that he could've done better. I tried to rep BAVE, but he's on spread with me.

I hope so.....although based on last time around, I think he gets defensive and declares us all idiots, just like they all do!

I did go in and rep BAVE for that.
I would rep BAVE but I already repped his other post in that thread, which ended up not being too far from the truth :).

Some say I'm part of a small group of regulars that can give people a hard time, I do like to joke around. But I'm not going to ruin some kids Christmas or steal his thunder. I have 2 kids of my own, my oldest is 3 and this year is the first year she really gets it. It's a amazing feeling to hear and see how happy she is with the tree and decorations.
