2 million set for 'March on Jerusalem'

Everyone that attempts to cross the border should be immediately shot in my opinion.

Israel should also put some land mines on the border if they haven't done so already

In Jordan, protesters will be bused from downtown Amman to Maghtis in the Jordan Valley, across the border from kibbutz Beit Ha’arava. They will conduct Friday prayers at the border. In Lebanon, demonstrators will congregate at the Beaufort Castle, not far from the Israeli town of Metula.

According to the event’s ******** page, Syrian Palestinians will organize activities “in accordance with the domestic situation there.” Jordanian daily A-Dustour reported Monday that activists have landed in Syria aboard Iranian airplanes.

The march organizers also boast the participation of a Neturei Karta delegation, an ultra-Orthodox group that opposes Zionism.

Israel has warned a number of Arab states against the march, preparing the IDF for possible confrontation with protesters attempting to cross the border.

Israel claims the march is organized by hostile elements and last week sent messages directly or indirectly to Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, the Hamas government in Gaza and the Palestinian Authority, calling on them not to allow escalation in the area by allowing marches to the borders.

Organizers claim more than 700 institutions from 64 states are involved in the rally. Protests are also planned to take place outside Israeli embassies in Europe and Arab countries.[/quote]

After yesterday... I have been trying to not indulge these conversations... Though I tend to agree that if the mob of protesters are belligerent then IDF has every right to defend themselves. The problem I see with the sentiment is the idea that "We'll just shoot them all" It is very barbaric. Instead of a last resort, it is being used as a first resort which speaks volumes to me. You can't just assume they are all violent and just shoot everyone. We don't shoot protesters just because they may be violent... Only when they actually become violent is that force acceptable.

I hope you would agree that they have no right to try to cross the border.

The key word here is "protestors".

Many will get shot and will get killed.

They're doing this on purpose to draw attention and vilify Israel.

What do you think America would do if 2 million Mexicans decided one day to walk through the border, chanting death to America and to Americans?

I work on a military base, We have had protests her where people were trying to come onto the base... We didn't just shoot them, but we had other ways to keep them out.

Even in the desert,(I say the desert, but mean deployed) Deadly force was always a last resort (As per our SF and MP's who were actually engaged in the base security)... Least amount of force necessary to neutralize the threat. Land mines and mowing people down with machine guns (Which would take away the option to retreat) is not the least amount of force necessary. When the threat becomes DEADLY then yes, They have the right to defend... I am sorry throwing sticks does not = deadly...

That would mean that each officer would have to arrest 10-11 people by themselves. Considering that most arrests involving resistance usually require 3+ officers/offender, it's highly unrealistic that the IDF can arrest even 50,000 people.

The only way to solve this is for the Israeli people to wake up and realize they're government is highly infested by zionist forces who are pushing the wrong buttons in regards to their neighbors around them. You arrest those who break the law. If it is illegal to cross the boarder, then you arrest each of them as they cross the boarder. 2 million people are not going to step across the line simultaneously. Even if they did, just because Israel cant handle the problem should not by default = shoot them. Its ridiculous. There are other ways of dealing with this situation.

Listen if you want my honest opinion

If they want to try and cross the border they can do that. But they should be forced to suffer with the consequences.

Israel has a right to defend it's country from two million hostile people trying to invade them. Actually any country has the right to do the same.

People should be held responsible for their actions. You want to invade another country? Great. But don't moan and complain when you get a bullet between your eyes.

Again, I do believe you have the right to defend yourself... but don't assume that all 2 million deserve to get shot because they are "hostile". Don't advocate shooting into a crowd and killing people who may have no desire for a violent altercation. I am 100% sure that some of them will be violent... But even if it is only 2% of them that want a fight, Why would you think it is okay to just shoot into a crowd when the other 98% are just trying to prove a point? Yes they do have the right to defend their borders (which they are expanding) - But also a right to a peaceful co-existence with their neighbors - this effort is being hampered by their "representatives" many of whom are zionist or zionist influenced. This problem is also spread to American politics and the elite over there. The best option is for the IDF to drop their weapons and march straight to the Knesset.
