Do i cook the oats like make oatmeal/porridge then add the whey protein?
Be warned, its quite lumpy. If you're not a fan of pulp in juices, you're not going to like oats in a protein shake :P. Blending before-hand can help quite a bit. I also read that a small sprinkle of salt helps activate the enzymes & reduce the phytic acid content of the oats (ie s*it that binds up with minerals in the gut & makes them inabsorbable), though i've yet to actually research if the difference nutrient wise is negligible or worth considering for preparing oats.....Cooking does the same thing essentially ie reduce the phytic acid content.
Sounds damn good. Uncooked oats obviously?
I use uncooked oats yes. I have actually grown to love them uncooked, I don't like them cooked. If you eat them straight away they are chewier. If you let them soak for a bit, they puff up and are softer. Either way, much better to mix a shake and pour onto oats rather than mix the powder into the oats THEN add liquid. No lumps, no clumps just super smooth oats.
