Protein Before Bed=fat?
I recently just lost about 60 pounds since the beginning of this year, but now I'm trying to bulk up MUSCLE a lot. I always do my cardio, and I lift a ton, but I always have to do this at night. I take my whey protein shake after my workout, and then I go to bed afterwards. Will my protein get stored as fat?? That's the last thing I want.
-
No.
Your body recovers during the night and it needs protein. I recommend slow digesting protein such as cottage cheese or milk along with the protein shake you already have.
-
Have your normal whey shake in water for fast absorption right after the workout, but you need to eat something after that before going to bed, honestly... Good before bed foods are casein protein and fats for slow digestion, like cottage cheese, milk, peanut butter, casein protein powder, etc
-
TOTAL CALORIE INTAKE.
I eat whenever you want, whatever you want (as long as you get EFA's and enough protein ofc).

Look, we all know this.. its pretty simple.. The protein will turn into small carb particles which is also known as protocarb.. when this protocarb reaches your stomach it will convert into trans-fatty acids which will make you fat and clog your arteries, so yes.. protein @ night? will make you fat!

This only happens pre-bed. Make sure if you are going to consume protein you follow the RDA [0.8 g/kg (0.36 g/lb) protein per day]. Also if you MUST take some protein before bed.., mix the protein with some Ben & Jerry's super premium ice cream and some added goat fat.. fats are good only at night.. because during the day you gain fat from fat.. but at night the body uses the goat fat and also the sugar from the ice cream for energy to create amino acids and creatine.. and you know what amino acids do! ;) Also, please stay away from casein products.. casein actually causes cancer [the chinese people proved it with science and algebra].. now instead of gaining more 'knowledge' go gain some juicy muscles!
-
so a peanut butter is a good pre bed meal? you have some link about that? i want to read a whole article about that. i prefer building knowledge first before building muscle. :p

Just avoid carbs before bed.
Protein is good for repairing tissue which is done mostly during sleep. Excess protein will be stored as fat so you dont need to be taking massive amounts. At the same time protein will be used for energy towards the end of the night if you havent eaten any fats or carbs for a while before sleeping. Fats are good, particularly mono fats, at providing energy while you sleep.
Carbs before bed will more likely be stored as fat than fats or proteins before bed.

With the basic amount of planning, this advice is an unnecessary restriction to impose.
