Only because I'm fat. When I was in shape, my legs look normal. When you're fat / lack proper musculature, you redistribute your weight different when standing.
"Knock knees is a term used to describe an inward angle of the thighs when a squat is performed or while standing in a neutral position. This is caused from weak abductor muscles, which are found on the outsides of the hips and thighs. To correct this problem, do abductor-strengthening exercises. The muscles involved with abduction are the gluteus maximus, gluteus medius, gluteus minimus and tensor fascia lata."

You can't change the angle of your knee joints by strengthening your hip muscles. That definition of knock kneed is just standing with your feet too close together.

You should start running. Besides the countless other benefits it would almost certainly help your knees.

Actually that definition of knock kneed says that if your muscles are weak, it affects the alignment of your body. And, you can also try directly strengthening the knee to help fix the problem (unless a severe case). This is from an Ortho site:
"The best way to correct knock knees in adults is to strengthen the knee by doing a series of exercises. Various types of exercises can be done to strengthen the knees including seated quadriceps contraction, leg strengthening exercises and hamstring curls. Be sure to select exercises that work to strengthen the muscles in your knee and not ones that put a lot of stress on the knee like running or mountain climbing because these types of exercises can actually damage the knee instead. Being overweight can also cause knock knees and because of this fact a good way to treat knock knees is to bring your weight down to a normal level. Excess weight can add a lot of stress to your knee only making the knock knee condition worse."

Well I'm sorry, that definition is stupid, because I was born like that. My legs were no weaker than any other 8 year old.

How is it stupid...isn't it the same for posture? If the muscles in your back are weak, you won't naturally stand up straight.
Didn't you say you've never really worked out or did sports in your life? Hmm....
I think I remember you saying you've been overweight your entire life too...you can tell me that hasn't been detrimental to your knees. If you look at almost any fat person, it seems as if they have knock knees. It's like the legs have to act as a tripod to hold excessive mass and make up for the weakness in joints and muscles.

I played soccer during recess with all the other kids in 2nd grade. Stop trying to start shyt you have absolutely no clue about.
You're saying an 8 year old had a severe muscle weakness in his legs because you can't accept the fact that my knee bone structure is genetically flawed. It's getting ridiculous.
Me when I was a kid:
Yeah, I was real overweight...

Haven't squatted in a while but last time I did I could do ~350lbs (160kg) for reps, I can leg press 7 pps. I know they aren't huge numbers but I think it's safe to say they are above average and whilst strengthening the knees may help some people, it's probably only those who actually have weak knees. My bone structure isn't going to change now.
Edit: Moore, knock knees is incredibly common in children but often corrects its self as you grow.

So now you have severe muscle weakness? lol...I'm sorry but I don't think I'm the one being ridiculous here. You're an admitted hypochondriac, can't tell me that's not coming into play in some form. Not trying to start chit, trying to be upfront with you and express my opinions just how you like to be to everyone else. I will leave it at that though, time to take my dog for a walk.

Worrying about my health has nothing to do with the VISUAL state of my knees.
First I'm an abnormally weak 8 year old, now I'm making up my clearly knock knees in my head.
Jesus christ, women don't give up no matter how stupid they sound do they?
What's going to be the next excuse you try to dig up to say my "clearly not straight knees" are normal or are crooked for a reason?
My buddy is 125 pounds on a good day at 6 foot, his legs probably measure 17 inches. He probably has trouble squatting 65 pounds for more than a few reps. His knees are perfectly straight and aesthetic like those body builders I posted up there. Muscle weakness did NOT cause my knock knees for the 501204946th f*cking time. It's my genetics.
Same reason I have bunions, same reason I have scoliosis, same reason my fingers are crooked. My bones ARE NOT STRAIGHT.
What's next? My fingers are too weak that's why they're crooked? For f*cks sake. Women...

I actually never said you were an abnormally weak 8 year old...I mistakenly thought you were saying you had severe muscle weakness. Read above.
There are many articles you can read / try to fix your knock knees...or you can keep crying about it on the internet and getting angry at people for discussing it with you. Either way, I don't care. Be back later.

Discussion is fine, it's when someone tells me my knees are normal when they're clearly not that rustles me.
...and to make matters worse proceeds to hint at the fact that it's from a muscle weakness by posting articles and telling me the definition of knock knees.
...or by saying "well you said you were overweight and didn't do sports right?" hinting at the fact that it's because of something I did, when it's not.

And not a moment too soon. Since Bullrider's self-imposed exile, I haven't had to worry too much about passers-by wondering whether I was some sort of Huang-afficianado. But Moore I guess feels obliged to step up his game with all the package deliveries.

Headed to LA for the next few days -- w00h00! Be back on Friday night, and headed out to DC first thing Saturday morning. I'll be off for two weeks, and will be returning on my birthday -- for my wife's surgery. :(
My workouts are going to suck the next few weeks. Oh well.
