I would be interested if anyone could provide any true research or involve the breakdown of each food type. I would love to see the carb composition in each of these to really tell anything.

^must still think that the individual food choice for overall carb consumption matters

Harder? It's a different texture & depending on the type of noodle, it could be thicker & may seem "harder"
Either that or you aren't cooking it long enough
I prefer pasta and bread over rice simply because of simplicity. Also can't stand brown rice, whole wheat pasta is Ok though.

arnold bread has transfat in it - its best to avoid bread unless you are going to a bakery that makes it fresh - so for the cheap person pasta / rice is better

In the context of a mixed meal, they're all the same; carbs are carbs. Eat what you like.
I don't like brown rice so I don't eat it.

why then dont you eat table sugar as your ONLY carb source and report back here in 6 months with results of blood lipid profiles. I think the lack of fiber in your carbs will screw you over :)

when did he say anything about table sugar, the question was about bread, pasta and rice, are you dyslexic?
Bread is portable and requires the least amount of preparation, but is the most costly.
Rice takes the longest time to cook but is probably the cheapest option.
Pasta has a moderate cook time and is only marginally more expensive than rice, but by very little.
Pasta and rice can be prepared in a variety of ways, from cooking in broth instead of water to adding sauces and other spices to enhance flavor.
Bread of course is useful for spreads and things of that nature.
Right now I have rice and bread in my daily diet, mainly becuase bread is fast and rice uses less dishes than pasta and is therefore preferable because I don't like doing dishes.
how do all these people not know what arnold bread is? lol and what is a "good for you" brown rice that also tastes good??
When I eat brown rice I usually put a bit of extra hit nandos sauce in it. That usually makes anything taste good.
use brown rice elbow pasta

there are kids out there on mass gainer only diets - because a carb is just a carb right?

Yes, carb is just a carb, fiber and micronutrient content are different, comprenez-vous?

The discussion concerns rice, pasta, and bread.
Try to stay on-topic.
A carb might be a carb, but a bagel isn't a bagel, is it.
