Wait till they play an SEC defense again they will look just sad!
Lol, LSU has the 71st ranked offense in the FBS, and 'Bama could barely stop them! Ducks will roll on the Tide. ;)

Again if we played in a conference with no defense our offenses would be higher, but remember defense wins championships....... SEC rules just look at the last few National Champions ;)

After this year, there will be no more arguments. Thank god for playoffs.
Pac10 still blows tho.
Yes the aggies were great for the SEC. Thank god they knocked off south carolina, leaving Georgia with a new opportunity to make the SEC championship game.

been my observation that the pac 10 "pool" of areas that they recruit from are from areas where football isn't the only thing happening....
better all around athletes...
more two sport studs in high school who had choose what way they wanted to got early in high school...
'
but I will give ya Florida and maybe texas for (all around) blue chippers in high school
I agree with this. Football is' God' in Texas. Maybe not so much in California.
(f*ck pac 12 because it's gonna take me 20 years to recognize Utah and Colorado)
Colorado used to have a top notch football program. I remember when they won the national championship. Utah, though, is kind of a head scratcher. Would have rather seen Boise State or BYU take that spot.
Texas A&M was actually considering joining the (then) Pac-10 for a while. Didn't make much geographical sense, though.
I don't know much about college football. And I don't know much about Texas A&M other than they have a badass Corps of Cadets (CoC) that produces some of the best officers I've met in the Army. Their 4th class system is tougher than the Service Academies, and they have the best Drill Team in the world.
You know the beginning of the movie "Few Good Men" where they showed the Marine Corps Drill Team? They were not real Marines. They were actually college students from Texas A&M CoC.
I'm at work and I can't post youtube footage, so if anybody would like to post the drill that I'm talking about.
Sorry for the derail. Carry on..
Don't know if this is what you were looking for Norwhich. Pretty damn cool footage though.

As an A&M grad I thought they would win 5 games top this year.... and now... we got Scooby Doo Heisman. Its gonna be fun the next few years.
Yeppers. That's the vid. They're pretty dang good, eh?
Yeppers. That's the vid. They're pretty dang good, eh?
One word-Awesome.
Depends on who you ask :D
Dayum, bummed. Helluva game.
Aggies beat #1 Bama. 29-24. Whoop. It was one helluva game to watch.
Aggies beat #1 Bama. 29-24. Whoop. It was one helluva game to watch.
Shame that a defensive penalty cost them the game. They could have done a lot in 40 seconds.
Great game, though. Manziel is a player.
Oregon versus Kansas State.
Anyone?
Notre Dame would have to lose first. And I wouldn't at all be surprised to see a one-loss Alabama team jump an undefeated or two. It's happened before. Although, to be honest, I wan't impressed by their effort against LSU or A&M. They have tradition and sentiment on their side, though.

It was strange to see them so vulnerable these past two games. I guess I bought into them more than I should have.
It's easy to be armchair quarterback but I'm surprised they didn't try to run it in. It was first and goal on the 7 yard line with 4 downs. It was theirs to win.

It is really hard to bounce back from a game like last week. It has happened to me/us in high school. I would imagine it would be at least twice as hard in college football.
You guys are most likely right, but if they can hold them to 25 or less they way they held FLA and LSU, then they have a 'puncher's' chance or at least as much chance as Pitt had @ ND ;)
I'm just rooting for them to pick up a loss, I don't want to see them in the national champ. game again. Would rather some version of the others....ND, Ore, KSt.
The Ducks were ridiculous the other night (offensively).
I'm not even a big enough NCAA fan to know how overrated ALA was. I feel LSU is too. Can't wait for a playoff. I wish they'd have gone straight to an 8 or 16 team format, though like D2 and D3. No reason ALA couldn't come back to win the national championship this year in that kind of format..
Will be interesting. I would think ND had their scare last week and should handle BC tonight. We shall see.

That's why the need for a real playoff -- there are a lot of 1 loss teams that could win the 'lombardi' in a tourney...
u kiddin me bro?
A&M is Undeafted on the road. J Manziel is a serious hiesman candidate.
That's why the need for a real playoff -- there are a lot of 1 loss teams that could win the 'lombardi' in a tourney...
I agree. Hell, even a two or three loss team could win it all, the reason being is scheduling. Most major colleges purposefully schedule cupcake non-coference games. It is not how you start, it's how you finish.

Alabama fan checking in. Gonna give all the props to A&M for that win. They came in and did what they had to do. Played the better game and deserved the win. Bama did make some questionable calls. I could not figure out why we weren't running more on a team that clearly could not consistently stop the run. But still, congrats to A&M and their fans. Johhny M is a hell of a football player.
As for the other SEC fans just happy to see someone else do what they couldn't (especially bitter LSU fans), no respect.
Most major colleges purposefully schedule cupcake non-coference games. It is not how you start, it's how you finish.
Yet, it's strength of schedule that gets you high in the computer rankings. Oregon had Kansas State coming to Autzen Stadium to open the season, but the K-State brass backed out because they didn't want to start off with a loss. That's what bit Oregon last year. They opened the season against LSU, lost, and could never catch back up.
Will be vindication for the Ducks if Kansas State ends up having to play them anyway! :D
Probably not going to happen since he is a freshman, but I do agree, he desrves consideration.
If they were considering freshmen for the Heisman, then they would have to include Marcus Mariota. Watch what he does tonight against Cal. (ESPN)

He is a special kid for sure. Too bad Oregon is having to play their entire front four 2nd stringers due to injury. Hopefully they will be able to return soon.

I have a feeling Coach Kelly is just resting some starters for the Stanford game next week, and Oregon State after that. I'll bet a lot of the "injured" guys could go if needed. But the injuries they are picking up in the game are worrying me a little bit. I don't think Barner can catch passes with that injured wrist, and Patterson looks done. That's going to be a huge loss.
