Breakfast ideas
This question probably is more suited to the nutrition section but since powerlifters diets are usually different than most peoples diet I might get better recipe ideas here. I am just looking for simple quick recipes for some variety because I am getting sick of eating eggs every morning.
-
every morning i stop at mcdonalds and get the 2 for 3 egg mcmuffins and a large coffee.
comes to 4.20$
800 calories and 35 protein i believe
-
Ronnie Coleman breakfast and you can still eat your eggs-
6 eggs
3 pk's grits + 1 slice cheese
Mix all that up and it's damn good.
-
1 cup whole milk
1 cup of oats
1tsp cocoa
1tsp sweetener of choice
Mix that up and microwave for one minute, stir it and microwave for one more minute.
Let it cool for 2-3 minutes
Add one scoop chocolate protein powder and mix
Add one tablespoon of peanut butter and mix
Takes about 6 minutes to make all together and is delicious and around 700-800 calories

First off I will say that most consider powerlifter's diets to be different, but you shouldn't think that way. If you think just eating as much as you can everyday is gonna yield results you're wrong. I don't know if that was the idea you had in mind in regards to a powerlifter's diet, but I just wanted to say that you shouldn't think that way if you were. A person who competes at 275+ is the only person who has an excuse to just stuff themselves. Even that guy should pay attention to his macros. Sorry for the rant, but I just see too many people who think that you just have to stuff yourself to get strong without paying any attention to what you're actually consuming.
My breakfast is oats, dark chocolate cocoa powder, whey, splenda, peanut butter, and milk/water mixed together and then microwaved. Lots of cals, lots of protein, good fats, and some fiber from the oats. Not saying this is what you should eat, but it is very tasty, easy to make, cheap, and will fuel you very well.
You can prepare you eggs a million different ways to man. Sometimes I'll put some salsa in the pan and let is warm up/sizzle a little and then I'll put my eggs in on top of that.

OP, you can take those same ingredients and create a protein brownie. Just grind the oats 1st and add a 1/2 tsp of baking powder and then mix and microwave.

The one I posted was my take on the Reese's style recipe from the anabolic cookbook.

This leaves you full until lunch? I'm ready to eat like 20 minutes later.
...and you guys appear to eat more for breakfast than I do in some entire days.
-
Protein shake before breakfast then whole wheat french toast, light syrup, two eggs, coffee, bacon optional if present and accounted for. Fire that up with double fiber wheat bread and your intestines will love you.

Ogus cake! and a 6 egg omlette with a pint of milk
-
On day shift it's usually 16oz 1% milk with a 1-1.5 scoops of whey.. a whopping 400 calories maybe.
On not day shift, I usually wake up and eat a bowl of cereal. 400 calories again?
Some days it's a protein bar.. 250 calories!
I usually get my calories in one big meal.

few eggs, some bacon, some fruit, breakfast number 1!!!! Keeps me feeling decent most of the morning, if I leave one component out I get real hungry before lunch. Lately been eating breakfast burritos since my wife doesn't want to cook for me as often as before so she premade a bunch of burritos. I don't enjoy it as much as having my fresh fruit.
-
Every morning I put 2 cups raw oats, 1 scoop whey, and enough milk to make it blend in the blender. blend for 15-20 seconds on high and consume. pretty sure it works out to around 1000 kCals. add peanut butter if you want more calories/fats.

I have the bullet also, but the cups are so small and barely hold anything. I'm going to upgrade to a ninja blender sometime soon.

I second this, because McDonalds is just disgusting compared to other fast food places.

The spicy chicken biscuit is on a whole other level than the McMuffin. Now I'm gonna have to hit Chik-Fil-A for breakfast tomorrow...
