Teen female bodybuilder
These are from my most recent comp on June 3rd. I am an 18year old female bb-er. Just wanted to know what you guys thought in terms of my progress for someone my age. Feel free to constructively critisize...I need it. I'm doing FAME this weekend, and want to know what I can improve on for my next show.
Thanks,
J-ME

What was your bf? It had to have been close to 8 or so. pretty shreded.
-
For a female your doin' alright :) If your comp is quite a while away I'd suggest that you bulk.
-
I was at 4%...I have hyperthyroidism and type 1 diabetes...so I'm kinda constantly shredded because i can't eat simple sugars, and everything i eat burns up almost instantaneously :(

i understand that is quite a hurdle to get over for a bodybuilder, but try and put more of an effort into eating ALOT MORE of whatever food you can. Your muscles are hardly developed at all. The only reason you can even see them is because your body fat percentage is so low. I commend you on your hard work up untill this point however i would suggest doing whatever you can to increase your food intake as to actually build a good muscle base. Good luck in your competition and in any future edeavours.

Im not trying to be an ass or upset you, but if i seen u out...
i would think you had a eating disorder, theres nothing there really, just eating as much as you possibly can, and hit some heavy ass weights
-

Holy ****........I was starring at those pics for like 3 minutes because i thought they were photochopped.
Needless to say girl, you need something to ****ing eat. Im not trying to be an ******* but do whatever you can to gain weight, I understand your battle with sugar but eat constantly if you have to to get the nessasary protien and complex carbs your body needs.
-
**** IF YOU GET HURT EASILY DONT READ ON ****
I think you should bulk... ALOT - stuff your face with protiens and pump that iron untill you colapse!!
Sorry but if you had an resonable body fat % you wouldnt be able to see any of that muscle, you dont have any muscle mass your just very ribbed
I know you cant eat sugar but Proteins?? Starch?? Fats??
I could go on but I dont want to dig my teeth in to hard.
-
great job...but to my eye's wayyyy to sckinny.....
-
Sorry to break this up to you but most men would be dead at 4% bf, let alone a woman. Although you could say your body fat is almost too low health-wise. Just because you can't eat simple sugars doesn't mean you can't bulk up a bit. Ever heard of whole oats and chicken?
-
i would bulk to a high weight put *mass* muscle on that frame and since you said its easy for you to shred you can cut easily...but yea you need to eat
-
I agree with the other posters bulk up, yeah seriosuley no offence or any disrespect to you, If I saw you in reality I will think you have an eating disorder just like the other guy said, I know ur problem, but you can still bulk up, because u look way to skinny.

peanut butter and banana sandwiches with a large glass of whole milk
repeat that every 2 hours

thats like the worst food a diabetic can eat
lol
-
i'd be interested in hearing why you would say that a banana, mixed with whole milk and peanut butter, would be an issue

You should get your hyperthyroidism checked out. My mom's cousin had that (I'm pretty sure thats what it was) and he could eat 2 pizzas in one sitting. He got it fixed now, but its seems to me that your bodyweight is EXTREMELY unhealthy, especially for a woman. You should definately get it checked out. Keep up your work tho, good luck to you.
-
I got it checked a few months ago...that's how I know I have it :(
-
three words....
EAT
EAT
LIFT

Thanks for your honesty everybody, even if some of it was kind of harsh (and thanks to those who defended me from the harsh ones, lol).
Rest assured, I don't have an eating disorder. My eating is "disordered" in that I can't have a lot of the foods that bodybuilders use to bulk with during their offseason (except for Jay Cutler who just eats more clean carbs). I am trying my best, and I do live by the "EAT EAT LIFT" credo :) I'll do FAME and then take some time off and see what my body does

Why don't you post an example of your daily diet? Give everyone an idea of what you are eating. We might be able to find gaps to throw in a little more diabetic-healthy food.
-
You should be on medicine for the thyroid issue, and you should be seeing a dietitian regarding your eating. There IS food you can eat. Your bodyfat is MUCH too low. Please get yourself to a dietitian and get this solved. You are dangerously lean.

You look great :)
I sent you a pm , hope you dont mind! do you have any messengers or anything?
But yeah good luck on your show :) the women here are all great and can help you out a lot

:)
I think that the others were right - I think that to make the kind of impact that I think you want to make, you're going to need to put on a great deal more muscle mass. That means stepping outside of your comfort zone and eating a lot of calories. I don't think that simple sugars should be the backbone of any diet, bulking or otherwise, so you should still be able to get a caloric surplus eating healthy protein sources and fats.
I'm sort of disappointed by some of the comments here, too, especially those that are deprecating. I have nothing but respect for those who are willing to put themselves on the line, so to speak, by posting pictures of themselves and asking for criticism. Our bodies are our most intimate possessions - as in, we're stuck with them. All we can do is work hard to try to mould them to be the best that they can be. Do I think that the original poster needs to put on some mass to achieve her goals? Absolutely. Do I think that 4% bodyfat is WOW-low? Yes. Do I respect her as a person? Again, yes. So cut the **** about calling her physique 'sick', her sick, or being excessively negative. She's here for support and help.
Kudos to most of the respondees :)
Regards,
Sem

Hi and welcome. Congrats on your venture into bbing. You look good. Very lean with a good muscle base. With some more cals and some musclematurity you will look even better. After FAME you should probably take some time to REALLY focus on bulking.
I have a good friend with the same condition and she struggles to keep the weight on. Frustrating for her b/c people often mistake her for an anorexic.
How many total cals are you eating a day? You can afford to bump up your portions and even throw in another meal or two or three (yep, I know it is probably a lot to choke down, but with time, you will be able to do it...start out with smaller meals and gradually increase them until your belly can handle it). I see that you are eating a lot of MRP and bars. I would try to eliminate the bars and replace them with whole foods. They are ok on occassion, but personally, I avoid them.
For your snacks, try to make them whole food. ...maybe a large chicken breast and for meal 6 have a large bowl of cottage cheese, some almonds and keep the fruit.
I would also add some complex carbs to your 2nd meal. IE: oats, sweet pot., rice, etc...
If you do take out some of the bars and MRPs, make sure you are putting fats back into your diet.
Good luck with FAME!!! Keep us posted. I will be routin for ya :)
