No way A&M starts that low...they'll be in the top 5...,,

Agree with this.
You Notre Dame haters crack me up lololol.... We're back and you just can't stand it! Makes it even sweeter.
....tell us how Notre Dame is "back" now?

I'll let you figure it out on your own Sherlock.

If Notre Dame got beat in a close game then one could argue that they are back. That didn't happen. This was the in the running for the best NC game IMO. If ND would have lost by a few more TDs, it would have been #1 hands down.

I enjoy smack talk before a game just because it's fun and I don't take it serious. After the game, if my team loses, I always congratulate the fans of the other team. If my team wins, I always try to be gracious to the fans of the other team.
7-42... we have Bama just where we want them lol
LOL!!! :)
Roll Tide. Good game last night. Proud of that Crimson Tide.
I picked Bama because I think they are a lot better. I am a Canes fan and I would even root for the Gators or Noles in this game if they were playing ND.
Then I guess you understand. 41-3
Btw, the Canes went 7-5; why didn't they go to a bowl? Are they on probation?

They declined the game. Miami was supposed to play FSU for the ACC title instead of GT. If Miami didn't decline the ACC championship game, they would have been forced to play the bowl game. If Miami has over 3 losses, I would rather they never play a bowl game. At that point, I'm usually ready for the season to be over with.
Alright. Game over. Better team won (ROLL TIDE). Now lets move to the NFL playoffs. Oh, wait.... that season is done too, huh David? Cheer up buddy. Pitchers and catchers report the week of the 10th, maybe your REDS can cure you of the grumps. :D
I see next years pre season rankings as
Alabama
Georgia
Oregon
Ohio State
South Carolina
Stanford
LSU
Texas A&M
Florida
Or thereabouts.
I'm confident Notre Dame will not make the top 10. They are losing too many good players, and Golson is just not a star.
Ohio State should be higher, FLA shouldn't be there and I am not convinced LSU will/should be either. If the juniors on BAMA's O- line go to the draft early, they won't last past week three.
I totally disagree, ND is bringing back up to 15 starters and had the number ranked recuiting class last year.

I've only gotten into college football the past few years so I don't know much about rankings and predictions. Anyway, it struck me as odd that most everyone was expecting the number two seed to soundly defeat the number one seed. Is this uncommon, highlight some deficiency in the ranking system, or ... ?
I just really wanted to see something close...
pretty tired of these anti climactic games at the end of the college season !
Yep, I was ready for a battle but it ended up a blowout, very disappointing game.

Yeah good thing for Bama that OSU was on probation or it would have been ND vs. OSU last night. I think the Irish would have fared much better against the Buckeyes. Alabama needs to go on a three-year NCAA probation!

I feel that way with the Badgers, if you can't be dominate and win games in the season I don't want them going to any bowl much less the Rose Bowl again and again.

Hopefully they can get over such a demoralizing loss, put it behind them and move on. Not all teams can.
I do believe Notre Dame football is on the rise. However, there last 4 BCS appearances they have lost on average by over 14 points and had over 500yds put up against their defense. Vegas loves Notre Dame because the whole world bets them to cover the spread and they have not in a very long time. Anyway...
The SEC in general is just that much farther ahead of the rest of the conferences. It is not that Notre Dame was not prepared, they were simply overmatched. I think teams like Florida and LSU lost their games can simply be attributed to disapointment for not playing in the national championship (which is the expectation every yr). I think the playoffs next year will really go a long way in illustrating the disparity of talent within given conferences.
Finally, OSU will be back on the map next yr and BCS eligible, but, Big Ten football was exceptionally weak this year. Put OSU in the SEC and they would have been lucky to finish 4th. This is a totally unbiased review as I am a fan of the Big East (at least until basketball ends this yr, then off to the ACC).
ND is an entirely different team than it was in it's last BCS game years ago.

Past losses in the BCS were under other guys and have been a few years ago. Like Kelly said after the game, now they know where they measure up. I fully expect them to reach near that level, and hopefully Bama gets placed on probabtion ;)

Those teams got BEAT. No excuses needed. The SEC is good but lets not explain away every loss to a team from another conference, like it's not valid.

Or better yet, get a 16-team playoff, like every other division, and lets see who comes to the top. There weren't be any need for hypothetical prognosticating.

I agree with you. I think it shows a lack of character when a team shows up and plays a poor game because they are disappointed who they are playing. Did not mean for it to come across as an excuse. I just believe these high profile teams can get a bit too full of themselves.
Any playoff will help. At least next yr some of the speculation as to who should be in the big game will be alleviated.

A 16 team playoff cheapens the regular season by a bunch. 4 is plenty IMO.
A 16 team playoff cheapens the regular season by a bunch. 4 is plenty IMO.
As we have seen, the regular season means nothing in terms of pairing teams with equal records. D1AA, D2, D3, etc. all use the same format and have a true champion. I'd settle for 8 but 4 is still too few IMO.

I keed, I keed :D
I lol everytime I see #91 of nd in the background. lol
All I got is Roll Tide Roll!!!!!
There are 3 football conferences in the United States. The AFC, NFC and SEC :D
Brian Kelly interviewed with the Eagles today... Here we go...
Now we know why Alabama won the NC! The Tide should forfeit the title and Crown the Irish as champions!
The company that says it provided deer-antler spray, a product that contains a banned substance, to Baltimore Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis also sold its goods to members of the 2012 national championship Alabama football team, according to a co-owner of the company.
And Christopher Key, the SWATS co-owner, told ESPN's Joe Schad on Wednesday he personally witnessed about five Alabama players spray what he sold them into their mouths.
"I showed them how to use it," Key said.
Key said about 20 players purchased the spray at a hotel room in New Orleans leading into the BCS national championship game against LSU. And he said he sold about 20 more bottles to players at the apartment of an Alabama player 10 days before the game.
That sounds good, but I've never been a fan of vacated titles going to runners-up, in any sport. Title should just remain vacated. I mean, really. Do you think those Tour de France second place finishers went, "Yay, I just won the TdF" when the winner was stripped months or years later? I hardly think so. They still knew they finished second. And it's not like sporting federations are going to go find you some new prize money, either.
