Anyone try Monk Fruit the new popular zero calorie sweetener?
I first saw it used in Artic Zero prodcuts and I was wondering how it compares to Spenda and Stevia as a zero calorie sweetener?
"You might not have heard of monk fruit before. That’s because it has traditionally been grown amid steep forested mountains in small family orchards, so there just wasn’t much of it. According to legend, this small subtropical fruit is named after Buddhist monks who first cultivated it nearly 800 years ago. Ever since then it has been treasured for its health-giving powers and its unique calorie-free sweetness. Now here’s the good news - the world has finally discovered this amazing little fruit. That means you and your family can experience the great-tasting calorie-free sweetness of monk fruit in some of your favorite foods and beverages. "
"Monk fruit concentrate is 150 to 200 times sweeter than sugar. This sweetness comes from unique natural antioxidants called mogrosides which are found only in monk fruit and have a delicious sweet taste, but are calorie-free."
