I am currently doing Free Weights But i Heard Body Weight Exercises are Better. What do you guys think?
body weight exercises don't make you grow, you need resistance training
free weights are for bodybuilding and increase size but body weight increases endurance and not size so free weights are better in this situation
better at what
wasting your time?
frustrating you when you dont grow very much?

Bodyweight exercises won't make you grow? Yes they DO! Chin ups will work wonders for your back and biceps. Handstand pushups are really good for your shoulders. Don't get me wrong I am a fan of heavy weights but bodyweight exercises do work if you give them your all.

Some people can't do chins at all. Alot people who can do them can only do them in the effective 6-10 range anyways. Same thing with hand stand pushups.
If you want to build more muscle you have to move more weight. Even if you increase the number of pushups you are not moving more weight you're just moving the same weight more. There is no need to build more muscle the muscle only needs to work more efficiently. If you were able to triple the number of pushups you could do from 100 to 300 I wouldn't argue that you might add a little bit a muscle. But how much muscle would you have added if you tripled your bench press from 100 to 300.

Hmm. Well, seeing as how your **** can EASILY be miscontstrued as replying to the last person that posted, maybe you should use a screen name to direct your comments to whom they were ment for. Nobody owns me, I will own you faster than you can pull your thumb out of your *******. If you don't believe me, look at the last 3 people that were ripped to shreds when they thought they were going to be "smart" and take a stab at the badass.
My main purpose on this board is not to flame, but to help others. Just know that when you attack me, you are making a serious mistake.

Good bodyweight exercises:
- Dips
- Chins
Aside from that, get some free weights. Bodyweight squats and pushups won't help you too much. And unless you have an easy way to add weight to pushups that's a bust. Adding weight to squats? Well we call that squatting.
And AzBadass, you aren't impressing anyone, just making yourself look like a jackass. Quick! You aren't back-pedalling fast enough!

Oh man. What makes you think that I aim to impress ANYONE on this board? Half of these kids are whining about **** like "my mommy says supplements are bad" and, "lifting will stunt my growth". Why would I waste my time to impress a sorry bunch of sniveling babies that don't have the balls enough to make a decision for themselves?
Maybe this will help you understand my situation: I find, that most times, ridicule and public slandering catch most people's attention faster than just plain ol', straightforward advice. At least this way, somebody might learn something, instead of sitting around not knowing what in the hell to do about anything.

ur logic is quite faulty...i get through to quite a few people by offering honest opinions in a calm and collected manner....i doubt anyone wants to listen to a punk who thinks he's some kind of god and thinks talkin **** to people is advice. If you don't like this bored, i'd suggest leaving. Peace

Who said I think that I am some kind of god? You are making accusations without having the full wrap. Take for example, bigpoppaproppy over here: From now on, he is most likely going to use a quote or something to make sure that this confusion doesn't happen again; or at least I'd hope so. Also, if you would notice, I DO offer my opinions in a calm and collected manner. I only humiliate someone if they have taken a shot at me, or are a complete idiot. My aim is to help these kids, that is my reason for being on this board.
We're done here boys. We all know I am the toughest kid on the block - so don't make me get out of my sandbox. Now for some topic changing entertainment. :D

hmm...well the following post made it seem otherwise:
"I find, that most times, ridicule and public slandering catch most people's attention faster than just plain ol', straightforward advice. At least this way, somebody might learn something, instead of sitting around not knowing what in the hell to do about anything"
Poppa Pump, let me correct that statement. What I meant to say was: "I find that ridicule and public slandering catch most COMPLETE IDIOTS' attention faster than just plain ol' straightforward advice." Yes, I know that statement is not politically correct ect. But if you look at people as a whole, most are idiots. I am glad that you asked, and that I was able to clear things up.
And as for Big Traps: Dems some titties.

yeah...i think it's time for us to get back on topic, or just stop postin on this thread. Peace
OK, ON TOPIC NOW: The only bodyweight exercises I find to be worthwhile are: Chins, dips, inverted crunches, and handstand pushups. Anything else, and you are definately going to need some weight. Hell, get good at those that I listed, and you are going to need some weight.
Oh, I forgot about hypers. I do them every week. They build the entire backside well.
And that was an unnecessary attack on BT. He's a cool guy.
I wasn't attacking Big Traps. I was however, commenting on the picture that he posted of the kid with the titties.

bump...i love hypers...that and dips are the only bodyweight workouts i do...and i use hammer strength dips a lot, because i can't bang out enough dips with good enough form to really do anything positive at the moment. Peace

Do you do them after a chest workout? Because I used to do that and had to stop doing dips because of it. Now I start out my arm workout with weighted dips and I'm lovin' it. Yeah I do triceps first, mine lag and I think overpowering triceps are better than the reverse.
