I want to bring anything that needs to be fixed to the attention of the dev team.


Some things that will help

first of all- you just helped me about lsat posts....i did what you said but my posts from the lsat 3 days are missing

that pogue guy said I wouldn't be red after the update. I deserve to be green and thought my dreams would come true after the update. Y u no help?

the postbit code needs edited with a height attribute so that sigs are not so tight to the post. also, after an edit (of a post) the screen blanks white caused by a javascript error.

Can we have the old layout back?

Everybody prefers the old one and this one looks really bad.

You do realize that we all hated the old layout when it first came out, but then we ended up getting used to it and liking it? That layout hurt everyones eyes for weeks, this one will take time to get used to just like the old one did.

I have two computers, one of them is old with a screenresolution of 1024x768. The forum doesn't look very well on that resolution.

"Last post by:" is either positioned under "Replies:" & "Views:" or under the thread title. Instead of right next to "Replies:" and "Views:".

It's not working very well on iPhone. The threads are cut in half vertically and if a pic is something is posted I only see that half. There is nothing I can do and can't scroll over.

Post history on this layout looks cluttered as hell that's for sure, previous layout had boxes separating posts...

I remember that. But this is way worse. Very unpleasant navigating through sub-forums and threads. There's a huge gap between each thread, thread titles look tiny, rep bar above avi, too much room betwen your stats area and the actual post, hard to distinguish signatures from posts and heaps more.

Was there any usability type tests even done to this new one before they implemented it?

I've notices a few things on my iPhone app:

-the fact that we don't have to touch '[view image]' is a big plus. GJDM on that.
-the transitions between different pages (i.e threads, subsections, control panel) is not as smooth as it used to be.
-the thread title and thread rating seem to overlap.

I've been browsing for about 5 mins and I noticed those things first. Hope y'all can fix it.

This is what the forum looks like on a low resolution.

Black layout has no notifications of new pm's.

I think the space between the main post and the user signature need to be bigger.

When someone posts just one word or line I end up reading their sig thinking it's what they've actually written.

Pages load a bit slow (not sure if that's me)

There's way too much information on the main misc. page (I don't thing we need when the thread was started info, could just have the name of who started the thread rather than 'started by...'

Titles of threads need to be a bit larger and I don't really think that all the stickies need to be highlighted in blue.

Just my thoughts, sorry if it seems like complaints lol.

On thread ratings it's not showing how many members have voted.

Mobile version sucks ass, I usually used the old desktop version on my phone but this new one on my phone sucks as well. In the mobile version when someone posts pics u don't see the whole pic if its big. Also u can't navigate from inside a thread to back to the misc. As I stated before I'm a comp sci major and bb.com should internship me at $80 an hr to unfuk this sht. Dev team doesn't even lift.....

You're thinking of the change they did to the old layout that ended up getting changed back...

any way we could get that tall blue bar on the left rid of? not sure if we had that before

edit: Fix the threads in which the last poster will make the box for the thread really tall(ie 4-5 lines tall) could be squished to 3

The icon showing that you posted in a thread is missing. (It used to look like an orange rectangle with a circle in it.) For me a white empty space shows up normally where the icon is.

As others have said the sigs are too high. They need to be lowered because when I read someones post, I keep thinking their sigs actually part of the post.

- definitely the distance between post and signature (and signature format to make distinction?)
- distance between posts, too much space on the pages.. slow loading + too much scrolling down to read a few posts
- looks good overall!
