Feeling fat deposits in my stomach?
Hey guys / gals
See if you can help me please. I am not an obese guy. About 5' 9" 169 Ibs 35 years old. I am fairly slender with slight love handles and maybe a few inches that I can pinch in the abdominal section. Have had this about 15 years now. However, since I have been on a high protein diet (lots of high protein foods and high protein shakes X 2 months) I have started to put on some muscle, and my waste line is starting to slinder a bit. BUT, when I pinch up my fatty area in my waste line around my belly button, I am starting to feel some weird lumps. Not sure how to explain this. But when I pinch up the skin it feels like there are a few things inside the skin. Its like this all through my wastline area. Do you think this is fat deposits trying to break loose?
Anyone that was very heavy that lost a bunch of weight care to answer this? Did this happen to you? Should I be excited that I can now feel this? Not sure if this is a good sign or I might just be imagining this LOL.
The slight lumps that I feel are not hard. Just ... well.. lumpy.
Thanks for the answers.
I can relate, playing with them?
I've been searching non-stop trying to find out what these notches are. At first, I thought that perhaps, they were knots and tried to massage them, pushing them in circular motions. I did lose weight fairly quick as i was on an antidepressant that had me gain a lot of weight, i've switched and i'm going on 5 months now and i've gone done from 167 to 135. Anyways, I did notice them bruising my abdominal area since i've been playing with them, does this loosen them or something? I feel as though I have fewer every day and I just absolutely love playing with them :/ is this bad? should i not touch them?
Edit**
If i put those creams that are marketed for slimming on top of them will the heat help them "dissolve" faster?
You have to understand fat cells

Stubborn fat is a slow-metabolized adipose (fat) tissue. To burn fat, a natural hormonal process has to take place. When a fat-burning process is activated, the adrenal hormones (adrenaline and noradrenaline) bind to special receptors in the fat tissues. There are two major groups of receptors in the fat tissues, alpha and beta. The beta-receptors are the more active ones, which respond to the adrenal hormones. Fat burning occurs when the adrenal hormones activate the beta-receptors in the fat cells. If these receptors are not activated, no fat will burn off.
Stubborn fat has a lower ratio of beta-receptors to alpha-receptors. As a result, it's metabolized slowly and does not respond to the adrenal hormones. To make matters worse, stubborn fat has more estrogen receptors in the tissues. Estrogen (the female hormone), once bound to the receptors, causes even more fat gain.
Stubborn fat can be an age-related problem for men. The older a man gets, the more of his testosterone is converted into estrogen – through a process called aromatazing. Thus, the older he gets, the more the aromataze enzyme is active. Fat tissues produce aromataze enzymes and therefore accelerate the aromatazing action, which converts testosterone into estrogen. Women usually suffer from age-related stubborn fat around their hips, thighs, and buttocks. Some women also have stubborn-fat tissues around their upper arms or entire legs. Age-related stubborn fat for women may be the result of hormonal fluctuations or an increase in estrogen receptors in the tissues.
let's just say that stubborn fat presents three major problems:
1. It doesn't have a high enough ratio of beta-receptors to alpha-receptors, so doesn't respond to adrenal fat-burning stimulation.
2. It has more estrogen receptors, which accelerates fat gain.
3. On top of all this, stubborn fat doesn't have a healthy blood circulation. These slowly metabolized fat tissues have fewer blood vessels than a normal fat tissue, and consequently this fat is slower to metabolize, and therefore more stubborn or difficult to remove. Fat needs to be carried to another cell through the blood stream (poor blood flow to an area means slow fat loss from an area).
Try to minimize the purchase, consumption, and storage of food, water, and other beverages or liquids that are wrapped or bottled in plastic (particularly soft plastic bottles and containers). If the food or liquid smells like plastic, stay away from it.
Minimize your alcohol consumption. Excessive alcohol may compromise your liver's ability to break down and detoxify estrogenic derivatives. When not broken down and detoxified, these estrogenic toxins penetrate the blood and cause unpleasant symptoms like bloating, water retention, and stubborn-fat gain.
Soy flavones contain mild estrogenic properties. Most people are not affected by this mild estrogenic stimulation. Soy flavones bind to the estrogen receptors in the tissues and thus block these receptors from estrodiol, the most potent estrogen hormone. Estrodiol is called the "bad estrogen," because of its occasionally powerful effects on the body, such as bloating, water retention, fat gain, feminization of men, fat under the skin, and stubborn fat gain around the chest and the belly. Soy products are suppose to help but for my self I don't know. I to have lost 50lbs and I still have a fat pad on my belly at weighing only 117lbs now. And damn it YES I work out like a monster so please I'm not looking for advice. I like my routine and it works for me!! When I was heavier I had massive fat balls under my skin and they would burn if I squeezed them. The doctor said I had high cholesterol and I probably had a fatty acid imbalance meaning: I didn't eat enough "GOOD" fat.
Well I don't have that problem anymore but on my diet, fat-loss approach I fast for a day if my body-fat scale, tape measurements haven't budged for awhile. Please no negative remarks about my choice to fast, it's the only thing that is working to melt this last layer of my onion (belly fat). Most people with negative comments know good damn in well there is nothing wrong with fasting for a day. It's just when they themselves can't do it, then oh gosh it's bad! Anyways people it's NORMAL to feel your fat cells as you lose weight and for people who have looser skin the worse your stomach looks means you just lost weight in that area. Sometimes you can even only lose weight on one side of your stomach but that to will correct it's self. Well, I'm tired of typing, just be patient and those little balls of fat will melt smaller and smaller even though the fat loss could be uneven eventually it WILL even out, I SWEAR !!!!!
I get this everytime i try to lose fat
I was not sure of what it was but when looked up on the internet for what those lumps were, i fell on this post of yours and reading the replys reassured me and gave me motivation to keep going.
I am 175cm at 81 kg and i am pretty fat as you can tell, i workout and lift heavy weights (cause it feels good). But i have put a lot of fat lately while trying to put on muscle mass. So i am cutting.
Btw you are doing great with your cut. Good luck
