too much olive oil bad?
I love to dip whole wheat bread with olive oil and italian spices.
I heard that olive oil is good for you because it doesn't have as much sat. fat.
I'm wondering what percentage of olive oil is sat. fat and how much of it is good fat.
How much olive oil is acceptable to eat? If my daily allowance of fat is 40 grams would it be OK that most of it is from olive oil?
I know EFA's would be a better choice, but bread taste much better with olive oil and italian spices!

I don't know any percentages of it, but I heard a few dips of olive oil a day keeps the doctor away. LOL, thanks to Emeril on the Food Channel.

Out of 14g fat per serving, I think 1-2g is saturated and the rest are the "good" fats. As long as your total calories allow for the consumption of olive oil in great(er) amounts, feel free to dip away. I wouldn't necessarily go that route as I like to get my fats from a plethora of choices, like fish, nuts, etc. You're better off measuring before you start dipping. Sometimes, if you dip bread or what not, the oil gets saturated into the bread and you're really taking in more oil, then you think :)
