Knee pain while twisting
OK! I'm really hoping someone can help me with this. My dad's 60 years old and has been having right knee problems ever since he was beside a sailboat and it knocked him while his foot was in sand and twisted his knee. He said the pain wasn't real bad, just became uncomfortable. This was 2 years ago.
Ever since that time, he's been complaining here or there, but he continues to do body pump at Goodlife 3 days a week. I'll label a few of the symptoms.
-Main problem is with his right knee planted, and twisting to the right causes the pain.
-Driving his car (it's manual), because of the angle his knee sits.
-Sometimes in the squats and lunges during body pump, he experiences a sharp pain, that goes away quick.
-He thought taking time off from body pump would help it heal, it just made the pain worse, and was more pronounced while sitting at a desk and walking around at work.
I know it's kind of vague, I just wanted some opinions on what it could be. He JUST got back from a doctors appointment who told him it's "Probably Arthritis" but I don't think this makes any sence, and our doc isn't too great at the injury side, as he's misdiagnosed me before as well.
Thanks for anything someone could throw out there for me. He got X-Rays, and hopefully they turn up helpful.

If you/he are unhappy with the quality of medical care from your doc, find another one.

Ask your doctor for an X-ray of the knee. Or better yet, a referral to an orthopedic specialist.

Umm... Totally not reposting. I've only done a few posts on this forum ever, and my dad's been complaining the last 2 months or so. I don't know how you'd think it's the exact wording. Maybe people have had the problem before. Sorry I didn't go searching through the forum too much before posting my own.
I didn't ask for any advice on my doctors by the way, just if it sounds like anything someone else has heard of or had before, and what could be done.
Thanks to anyone who can help.
