/thread
rofl no.... i go to sleep every day at 2am and wake up at 8am for work....
and im 6,8f
It's mostly genetics.
at fist sounds stupid but i get up at like 6:00 every morning even in summer and im 6 foot, my dads 5'6 and my moms like 5'7'...
NO!
if you have tall parents your likely to be tall, small parent = more likely to be short.
I barely got any sleep as a kid and I'm 5'8". My parents are short-to-average height, but the males on my mom's side are pretty big. I feel like I lost some height and probably health in general by being such a night owl.
Whether or not it affects your height, it's a good idea to sleep and eat well while you're still growing.
i have another ??
does lack off sleeping affects muscles growth
Well if you work out on a daily basis and dont allow your muscles to rest during sleep than you could get more minimum results than if you did get that extra sleep time.
hmmmmmm......................
I go to bed @ 11:30 pm every night...and at 14 yrs old I'm pushin on 5'10"
If you don't sleep you wont grow, that affects you if its small or large. Not positive if it has a large impact on skeletal growth, but it does play a large role in muscle growth.
No. It's genetics.
What annoys me is all these forums I hear about where people do 'stretching routines' and stuff like that. They somehow think it's going to force their growth plates to reappear and make bone grow. Ridiculous.
sigh...my dads 6'6-7 and im barely 6'1
I dont get much sleep though so...

you're 15.
.... and if you smoke you will be a dwarf.
Where do you get all these crazy ideas from???
The body will get as much sleep as it needs! Staying up late one night, and you will get sleepier earlier next day.
In the end the body will win, even if you try to fight it, and wake up at 10 a.m. on a Saturday or Sunday. or more or less sleep on a whole sunday, even if you are awake sometimes.

reps!
seriously people....
All i know is that you actually grow 1/2 an inch every night but then shrink back to normal size within an hour after you wake up
Yes, it is very possible to stunt your growth by not sleeping enough, by smoking, by damaging growth plates through weight training for example, or by givinig yourself a calorie deficiency for a long period of time (especially during a growing phase)...
ppl who say sleep doesn't effect your growth because 'i dont sleep and im tall' is not enough to back the statement, there are lots of tall smokers out there also, and im sure at least one of them is an insomniac hahaha;;...
'some peoples height may not be affected at all, some slightly, while others may be affected severely... sleep, diet, and overall lifestyle can all relate to your height when you have stopped growing.'
